Spinal Stenosis is the narrowing of the spinal canal in your back, causing pressure on the spinal cord. Spinal Stenosis can occur in any area of the back, but the most common trouble is in the lower back, or lumbar area. This pressure results in pain and burning in the back and down into the legs. Spinal Stenosis can also be the result of an injury to the spine, or by earlier surgery to the spine. It can also be caused by Rheumatoid Arthritis, bone diseases, or spinal tumors.
What Are Symptoms of Spinal Stenosis?
Although there are generally no early symptoms of Spinal Stenosis, signs can develop over time. Some symptoms are:
- Back Pain – mostly lower back or lumbar area pain
- Burning feeling travelling into the buttocks and down into legs
- Numbness, tingling or cramping of legs

The development of more acute symptoms should always be looked at by a doctor.
